Depends on what was lost and the classification level of the items lost. Could be anything from a reprimand, NJP, Court-martial, OTHD/DD/BCD. When I was stationed overseas a JO lost a bunch of Crypto keys while we were doing Joint Operations with the South Koreans. He was cashiered and his Department Head was forced to take early retirement. Source(s):Former Navy E-6 10 Comment

the company across from ours lost a paid of NODS (night vision) .. needless to say, nobody left the company for a few days, they marched to chow together, etc etc etc. they don’t take it kindly when you lose ANYTHING, let alone $1500 night vision devices. In a combat zone, its even worse. We had some guys lose thermal imagers, and it’s just bad news. Source(s):active duty Army Airborne Infantry, OIF Veteran 01 Comment

As in classified documents? You could be jailed depending on what they are. 01 Comment
